This position is responsible for design, implementation, and advanced support of media service solutions for academic, clinical, educational, and administrative applications for the University of Utah Health Sciences departments and programs, Utah Telehealth Network member sites, and regional partners.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, designs, deploys and supports media services infrastructure and applications in support of telehealth.
- Develops and implements test plans for assessing new technologies and applications. Researches and reports on emerging technologies and trends in the field.
- Presents on technical topics at regional and national conferences.
- Develops reference materials for technical support staff.
- Develops and implements reference materials, multi-media and in-person training for end-users.
- Provides advanced troubleshooting of videoconferencing and other media services issues.
- May serve as lead for media services staff, assigning staff to conferences and related activities.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Advanced knowledge in telehealth systems, including videoconferencing equipment, audiovisual, collaboration and presentation, and web technologies.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to produce quality reports, presentations, and technical diagrams.
- Public speaking: Incumbent will conduct training and make presentations to audiences
- Successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work alone and in a team environment.
- Understanding of IP networks
- Flexibility
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent.
- Six to Eight years of experience working in information technology, videoconferencing, broadcasting, and/or an audio-visual environment.
