The Senior Decision Support Analyst Lead provides leadership and oversight for the financial decision support environment, including but not limited to system maintenance, cost accounting, and enterprise reporting and analysis. The Lead is responsible for developing decision support capabilities and implementing data management disciplines to improve business information and data quality. This position is responsible for identifying specific reporting needs and directing staff to work with customers, both internal and external, to assist them in utilizing/analyzing data in order to uncover issues and make informed business decisions. In addition to the financial decision support environment, the lead is responsible for leading the team in the areas of external and internal benchmarking, statistical reporting and productivity reporting.
This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the maintenance and quality of the decision support system, working with staff and customers to understand business information needs and translate that into reportable data elements, as well as providing education of data flows, processes and system capabilities
- Leads and/or provides consultation support to major data information flow improvement initiatives and special projects including managing staff and/or outside consultants that support the initiative
- Leads the staff responsible for design and execution of reporting needs and data extraction, including interface programmers, site finance, planning analysts, and consultants
- Supports the development of ad hoc and production reporting capabilities to meet information requirements of management and key business partners
- Responsible for helping build structure and accuracy around data management through development and implementation of processes and procedures. This includes the formation and implementation of data validity checking techniques, understanding the flow of data, and identifying alternative sources to support analysis efforts.
- Provides project management for the development of internal and external data submissions. This includes analyzing, developing, maintaining, and coordinating the data to populate as well as maintaining and supporting the immediate and long-term data integrity of the data
- Leads the team in the areas of statistics, benchmarking and labor productivity. Ensures the accurate reporting of statistics, reporting of benchmarks trends and reporting of Labor Productivity measures to aid in sound analysis and decision making
- Integral in the support of process improvement initiatives, through building data sets and analysis to support the measurement of financial and clinical outcomes
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
- Demonstrated leadership, management, human relations and effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of information technology, database systems, and data reporting tools.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Excel, Access, and other IT applications.
- Demonstrated contract negotiations and contract management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing working relationships
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business finance, and accounting, or a related field, or equivalency.
- Five years of progressive related experience in healthcare finance or information technology.
Qualifications (Preferred):
