This position is responsibilities include working closely with key business customers and data users to define critical information needs, providing guidance regarding availability of data, capability of systems to meet informational needs.
Implements, designs, and provides support for reports, dashboards and other Business Intelligence delivery methods. Review, modify and promote clinical and financial operational system reports. Design and develop data warehouse reports.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers requirements, write, clarify, and interpret specifications for clinical and financial report requests
- Implements and modifies clinical and financial application reports
- Defines and implements business intelligence (BI) technologies and services to enable the analysis of aggregate operational data
- Performs thorough functional tests of reports; assess query performance and tune reports as required
- Coordinates, develops and provides appropriate training for management and operational users.
- Serves as the contact and liaison with user community and vendor.
- Participates in department and hospital task forces, focus groups and/or committees to meet the Business Intelligence Team objectives.
- Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of our major client hospital.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to design and develop reports, dashboards and other analytical delivery methods using SQL-based tools.
- Previous experience with SQL, Business Objects or Crystal Reports is highly desired
- Oracle SQL/PLSQL programming
- Broad knowledge of data warehouses/data stores and data marts
- Excellent verbal/written communications and customer-relations skills.
- Excellent written skills and experience with documentation of issues and resolutions.
- Healthcare experience is highly desired.
- Experience of software development lifecycle and methodologies is necessary
- Epic Application configuration or Clarity Report development experience a plus
- Working knowledge of one or more programming languages/reporting systems, including.Net, Java, XML
- Excellent understanding of Relational Database Design
- A minimum of two years writing SQL statements and generating reports
- Effective analyst able to work closely with non-technical users
- Be self-driven with the desire to achieve measurable, specific results within tight time frames
Qualifications:
Required
- Two to five years experience in Business Intelligence, decision support, reporting or data management
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of data warehousing design, the business intelligence reporting life cycle and standard query tools
Qualifications (Preferred):
Preferred
- Health Care industry domain knowledge.
- Epic Application or Clarity reporting experience
