The incumbent installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
Responsibilities:
- Understands, follows, and implements appropriate change management controls.
- Communicates proposed system changes and system issues to teams affected within a time specified by the service or operating level agreement.
- Leads the management and support of the Citrix environment for enterprise clinical and financial systems.
- Works with the vendor to perform software upgrades, implementations, migrations, and other initiatives.
- Ensures all aspects of the system are being monitored and events are acted upon.
- Creates standard and ad hoc reports.
- Troubleshoots system problems, including hardware and software, and is ultimately responsible for resolution.
- Coordinates activities of, and makes assignments to, other UIT staff and department staff in support of client installation, support, and maintenance. Assists in task prioritization.
- Responds to client problems reported by customers and is ultimately responsible for resolution of reported issues.
- Investigates vendor system bugs and provides input on alternative solutions. Ensures proper reporting of bugs to vendor.
- Performs routine and complex system maintenance tasks, including hardware and software monitoring, system recovery and performance tuning for department systems.
- Creates, maintains and supports test and development environments.
- Gathers information from vendors on product features and future development. Provides input on product upgrade timing issues to customers, related project teams and management.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of Citrix installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting knowledge of PNAgent, Receiver, Full PN Client, Web Interface and ability to teach appropriate troubleshooting techniques to junior members of the team.
- Current knowledge and background in managing Microsoft servers in a complex heterogeneous environment.
- Experience managing Microsoft IIS servers a strong plus.
- Experience managing Microsoft Office SharePoint a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of technical infrastructure, networking and system operations.
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
- Basic Windows Load Balancing and Clustering Knowledge a plus.
- Basic VBScript, Power Shell, and WMI scripting knowledge a plus.
- Strong communication skills with business partners. Must be able to present one's self well and comfortably in front of an audience, as well as in writing.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
- Proactive attitude looking for ways to improve existing production systems and ability to spot potentially critical problems before they impact the user environment.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalency.
- Minimum Two to Four years experience of applicable experience.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Experience with Windows Client Administrator
- Experience with Epic or other EMR software.
