The Systems Administrator III manages the installation, configuration and administration of server hardware, ESX and Hyper-V Hypervisors, Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server.

This position combines technical system administration with project leadership. The incumbent will integrate and support complex systems which provide core services to the organization and support our business systems. The person in this position will manage and administer servers, software and databases for a variety of applications including packaged applications and custom developed databases and applications.

Responsibilities:

- Installs system and application hardware and software. Assists in the analysis and purchase decisions of vendor products. Works with vendors on product upgrades, maintenance, and support.
- Creates, maintains and supports test and development environments.
- Provides high level troubleshooting support for server services and application software.
- Conceptualizes, designs and programs complex systems and applications to enhance business processes.
- Ensures all aspects of the system are being monitored and events are acted upon.
- Gathers information from vendors on product features and future development. Provides input on product upgrade timing issues to customers, related project teams and management.
- Monitors system security and performance; troubleshoots security probes and hardware and software errors. Performs system vulnerability scanning.
- Installs, configures and maintains enterprise hardware and associated peripherals, operating systems, and software.
- Actively performs daily, routine and complex system administration/maintenance, including hardware and software upgrades, system recovery, and performance tuning.
- Performs vulnerability scans of both newly installed machines and routine scans of existing servers; remediates any vulnerabilities identified in a timely manner.
- Designs and implements environments in support of mission critical applications required to be highly available using Microsoft Cluster Server.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

- Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter installation, configuration and administration.
- Experience with Hyper-V and System Center VMM installation, configuration and administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server version 2003, 2008, and 2012.
- Experience with enterprise class x86 hardware, preferably HP ProLiant servers and c7000 enclosures and blades.
- Current knowledge and background in managing Microsoft servers in a complex heterogeneous environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Orchestrator
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center App Controller
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager


Work Schedule: :

The incubent may be required to work overtime and must participate in an "on-call" rotation on a routine basis.

Qualifications:

Required

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Five years of equivalent experience.

Qualifications (Preferred):

- Five years of experience that includes ESX, Hyper-V, Windows and Linux system administration.
- Experience in Storage Area Networks.
- Experience with HP Rapid Deplyment Pack.
- VCP, MCSE Certification.
