This position provides engineering leadership and oversight on design, engineering and development of information technology solutions. Responsible for the most complex, multi-site domain activities and integration. Manages the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the team on technical issues. Expected to become proficient in all database technologies that we administer.
- Works with application team to design Oracle database objects that meets business requirements and production standards. This requires obtaining application knowledge while working with architects, data modelers, and application developers.
- Ensures the performance of the databases and application code from development to production.
- Installs and migrates object changes through multiple test environments and production.
- Works on complex projects.
- Develops and implements database recovery plans and procedures.
- Installs, upgrades and tests complex database software.
- Works with team members to maintain technical skills, mentors staff.
- Works with customers to maintain relations and understand needs
- Works in multiple projects simultaneously which spans multiple applications releases.
- Participates in on call rotation
- Is expected to lead the unification of technical skills across the team
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Must have database environment administration on Linux, Solaris, RAC, Oracle Clustering, Grid.
- Expected to have, or aquire, knowledge of organization's existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) Methodology.
- Knowledge of and the ability to utilize appropriate database structures to organize and store data in a particular manner.
- Knowledge of and the ability to establish a data model for an organization's database in order to effectively manage information.
- Expected to have knowledge of and the ability to manage an organization's architectures, data resources, polices, practices and procedures to appropriately and effectively address business and stakeholder's.
- Knowledge of how to collect data from different information sources and distribute them to users; ability to use this information to simplify information systems and make sound business decisions
- Knowledge of and the ability to store and transfer an organization's data effectively, in order to meet business needs.
- Strong judgment and management skills.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.

- Unix Scripting

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- Six to Seven years of applicable experience
Qualifications (Preferred):
Preferred
- Oracle certification in 10 g or 11 g
- Experience with Cache
- Experience with SQL Server
- Experience working with relational data modeling
- Experience with database development methodies
- ITIL certified
