This position leads projects and contribute to implementation and maintenance of medical terminologies for Information Systems (IS) and Knowledge Management (KM) terminology projects, including analysis and translation of requirements specified by subject matter experts, knowledge engineers, information modelers, application analysts, data architects, and software engineers into useful and maintainable terminology content as part of HSC Data Warehouse team.

Responsibilities:
- Identifies, evaluates, plans and executes project to elevate the quality of, and extend, terminology offerings.
- Conducts research, analyze data, document work process and develop high quality deliverables.
- Assists in overall project support.
- Assists with Quality Control on project tasks.
- Responsible for mapping of codes to standardized terminology as assigned.
- Provides monitoring of exceptions and resolution of errors as identified.
- Participate in project teams to make architectural decisions to meet business requirements and best use of products.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritize and make critical decisions.
- Ability to act as a liaison between clinical departments and the IT department.
- Able to be on-call and work off hours as needed.
- Able to perform maintenance, development, and QA of UUHS terminology content.
- Must have thorough knowledge of advanced clinical concepts and the ability to exchange ideas with clinical and technical stakeholders.
- Skill composing professional correspondence that meets industry standards.
- Ability to organize information in a cohesive manner with attention to detail.
- Exceptional oral and written skills.
- Computer proficiency including MS word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Knowledge of clinical applications, coding standards, and medical terminology such as LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD9, ICD10, CPT, DRG, MS-DRG

Qualifications:
Required
- Degree in Medicine or PhD in other clinical field or equivalency.
- Five plus years in a Hospital or other Healthcare environment.

Qualifications (Preferred):
Preferred
- SQL experience.
- Formal informatics training
- Experience in implementations of Health Information Systems and projects
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure is strongly Preferred
