The incumbent is responsible for web application programming. This position will maintain custom web applications and will also be assisting in the development of web architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.
- Develops installation programs for websites.
- Troubleshoots debugs and implements software code.
- Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
- Maintains and monitors complex Unix/Linux environment including on-call rotation.
- Evaluates new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities into the platform.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e., SQL, C++, HTML, CGI and JavaScript).
- Extensive knowledge of Object Oriented Design and OO Patterns.
- CSS
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
- Ability to gather and document system requirements and technical architecture.
- Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers both orally and in writing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to gather and document system requirements and technical architecture.
- Demonstrates a systematic structured problem solving approach.
- Open to and able to give constructive feedback to others.
- Effective at managing his/her time to prioritize and accomplish various competing objectives.
Qualifications:
Required
- BS Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience with web server configuration (Apache)
- Experience with web application server configuration (Tomcat)
- Java/J2EE/JSP
